WHAT'S OUR FREQUENCY?

Transmitter Records is a vibrant, roots-driven label foundedby music industry legends Nicky Bomba and Mick Hughes.

With 2025 marking a new chapter, the label is breathing fresh life into the genres they’re most passionate about – from ska, funk, reggae, and dub to folk, mento, and even comedy .

Home to an exciting roster of talent including Ska Vendors, Sunny Coast Rude Boys, Barry Morgan and Bustamento, the label also has an impressive back catalogue featuring albums by Ross Hannaford, Joe Camilleri and award winning jazz cats Banana Oil

Constant touring and the downturn of the industry put the idea on the backburner for many ideas until Nicky teamed up with his daughter Sera in 2023 and re-ignited the concept in a digital world.

Transmitter Records V2 is re-releasing some classic albums from their catalogue while still actively tapping into new songs and concepts. The basic philosophy is to celebrate the power and love that a cool song can bring.
